Decadence wallpaper photo shoot!

After two solid days of excitedly sourcing props, yesterday was blissfully spent styling the wallpaper shoot for my next collection Decadence. I asked the fabulous Becky Mitchell Photography to photograph the sets for me, and I can't wait to get my hands on the final edits next week! Here's a few snippets of the day. All props were hired from the always generous Northern Lights Interiors and Kiwi Trading.

Creative Family Home book launch

I've just returned from a fleeting visit to London to celebrate the book launch of Creative Family Home with a true inspiration and friend Ashlyn Gibson (featured in the middle). It was such a wonderful evening spent in Ashlyn's new home the Clapton Laundry in Hackney, the room was full of inspiring and influential friends Ashlyn has gathered throughout her career. Ashlyn home itself is something of a stylists dream, full of eccelctic hoardings presented in a way I couldn't resist taking a few snaps. Congratulations Ashlyn on your debut book launch! You're creative ability is endless and still continues to inspire me after ten years of knowing you!

Published work! HOLLIS featured in Printed Textile Design

Just returned from a very fabulous trip to Paris to find out that my work is featured in the new Amanda Briggs-Goode book, Printed Textile Design. An older design of mine 'Hollis' has pride of place across the contents page, and later featured on the same page with William Morris and Lucienne Day - pretty happy with that! On sale now through Laurence King Publishing Ltd

London wall mural

After my week in Paris I jumped straight into working on a three day private wall mural in London. The brief was set to work in a masculine space using a tonal colour palette and featuring a combination of previous work. This is the first mural I have done in years and I thoroughly enjoyed it, and had great feedback from a happy client at the end.

Paris trip...

For the past week I've had the privilage of working for a friends fashion textile studio Milkprint based in London. The studio exhibited at the huge fashion trade show Indigo in Paris. Amongst the most exhausting working days at the show (anyone who has exhibited at a trade show knows the level of tiredness I'm talking about!), I managed to get some fancy snap shots. I even bumped into fashion designer John Rocha on my lunch break! What a placid chappy! My favourite studio from the whole show was Mirjam Rouden who's textile designs I would cover every inch of my home with! http://www.mirjamrouden.com/
